A nurse leader with more than 28 years of combined service in healthcare, including 23 years at Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center (BRGHGMC) and 5 years at Sipocot District Hospital. Dedicated to advancing nursing practice, quality healthcare, education, and geriatric care through leadership, research, and continuous professional development.
Ms. Rommella De Leon is a Nurse V - Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at BRGHGMC. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from AGO Foundation College and her Master of Arts in Nursing from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, where she was recognized as an Academic Excellence Awardee. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Administration at the University of Perpetual Help, where she is now writing her dissertation. She is a DOH-NCP Level 3 Certified Geriatric Nurse Specialist and a graduate of the e-Learning ASEAN International of Gerontology.
Her leadership experience includes serving as Cluster Head of Nursing Education, Training and Research (NETRU) for 2 years, Institutional ISO Quality Management System (QMS) Point Person for eight years, and former Health Education Promotion Officer and Public Health Unit Head. She has also led quality improvement and public health initiatives, earning recognition for excellence in healthcare service delivery.
Further demonstrating expertise in quality improvement, completed the Field Management Program at the Center for Health Development - Region V (CHD RO V) and was recognized, together with Dra. Susan Barrameda, as Best Presenter for the quality improvement project "Quality Improvement for Waiting Time of Outpatients in Bicol Sanitarium".
She currently serves as a Board Member of the Philippine Nurses Association, Camarines Sur Chapter, the Gerontology Nurses Association of the Philippines, and the Philippines Society of Palliative and Hospice Care Nurses, Inc. Her professional interests include geriatric nursing, nursing leadership, quality management, education, and patient-centered care.
