The Philippine Society of Palliative and Hospice Care Nurses, Inc. (PSPHCN) is a professional organization committed to promoting excellence in palliative and hospice nursing, supporting nurses’ professional growth, and advancing education, research, advocacy, leadership, collaboration, and compassionate care for patients and families.

Membership pathways are primarily designed for Philippine Registered Nurses with a valid PRC license. The appropriate membership category depends on your palliative and hospice care education, experience, research, teaching, and professional contributions.

PSPHCN has four membership categories:
Associate Member

Yes. You may apply as an Associate Member if you are a Philippine Registered Nurse with a valid PRC license, have an interest in palliative and hospice care, adhere to professional and ethical standards, and are willing to undergo DOH Basic Palliative Care Training or ELNEC training.

No. Associate membership is intended to provide an entry pathway for nurses who may not yet have clinical experience in palliative and hospice care.

Yes. The membership guidelines recognize relevant palliative and hospice care training, courses, and experience acquired locally and/or internationally, subject to PSPHCN evaluation of the submitted documentation.

Applicants must satisfy the applicable Lifetime Membership criteria. The membership reference guide specifies a minimum of five consecutive years as a Regular Member as part of the Lifetime pathway.

Honorary Membership may be conferred by the PSPHCN Board of Trustees upon nurses and other distinguished individuals who have made exceptional national or international contributions to palliative and hospice care through:
Leadership
Advocacy
Education
Research
Service
Honorary Membership is by conferment of the Board of Trustees and is not a regular application-based membership category.

Annual membership is valid from January 1 to December 31 of each year.
Annual renewal begins every January.

Members are expected to maintain professional good standing, update their membership records, and pay the applicable renewal fee.
Members with unpaid dues beyond six months may be classified as inactive.

Completed PSPHCN Membership Application Form
Valid PRC Identification Card
Curriculum Vitae or Professional Resume
Certificate(s) of relevant training
Proof of clinical, teaching, leadership, or research experience, if applicable
Payment of the applicable membership fee
PSPHCN reserves the right to request additional supporting documents when necessary.

The application goes through the following process:
Application Submission → Membership Committee Evaluation → Finance Clearance → Membership Committee Recommendation → President’s Approval → Membership Certificate & Number → Master List Update
PSPHCN reserves the right to request additional supporting documents. Application processing time is approximately two weeks.
