MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES

Membership in the Philippine Society of Palliative and Hospice Care Nurses (PSPHCN) aims to:
Promote excellence in palliative and hospice nursing practice throughout the Philippines.
Support the professional growth and competency development of nurses involved in palliative and hospice care.
Foster collaboration among nurses, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, government agencies, and international organizations.
Advance education, research, advocacy, and leadership in palliative and hospice care.
Uphold ethical, compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive care for patients and families across the lifespan.
Membership Categories

Eligibility
Philippine Registered Nurse with a valid PRC license
Adherence to the Nursing Code of Ethics and highest professional and technical standards.
Passionate about palliative and hospice care (prior specialized experience is not required).
Willing to undergo DOH Basic Palliative Care Training or End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) training
Pays the annual associate membership fee of Php 400.00
Rights and Privileges
Associate Members may:
Attend PSPHCN Inc. educational activities.
Participate in committees and projects.
Receive 10% member discounts on trainings and conferences.
Receive a membership ID, certificates, and recognition under PSPHCN Inc. programs.
Vote in committee-level activities.

Eligibility
Philippine Registered Nurse with a valid PRC license
Adherence to the Nursing Code of Ethics and highest professional and technical standards.
Completion of DOH Intermediate Palliative Care Training, local/international Palliative & Hospice Care Courses for Nurses, or Train-the-Trainer Certification.
Experience Requirement, acquired locally and/or internationally (At least one of the following):
Minimum six (6) months of clinical experience in palliative and hospice care setting
At least one (1) year of teaching experience related to palliative and hospice care
Conducted or published at least one (1) research study related to palliative and hospice care
Pays the annual regular membership fee of Php 500.00
Rights and Privileges
Regular Members may:
Vote during General Membership Meetings and national elections.
Serve as committee members.
Access all educational and professional development programs.
Receive 12% member discounts on PSPHCN Inc. activities, trainings, and conferences.
Receive membership credentials, certificates, and recognition under PSPHCN Inc. programs.

Eligibility
Philippine Registered Nurse with a valid PRC license
Adherence to the Nursing Code of Ethics and highest professional and technical standards.
Completion of Advanced/Specialty Training or at least three (3) years serving as a Trainer in palliative and hospice care acquired locally and/or internationally
Experience Requirement:
At least ten (10) years of clinical, educational, or leadership experiencelocally and/or internationally
and
At least one (1) published research paper in palliative and hospice care (locally or internationally).
Minimum of 5 consecutive years as a regular member
Pays the one-time lifetime membership fee of ₱3,000.00.

Lifetime Members may:
Enjoy all rights and privileges of Regular Members.
Be eligible for election to national leadership positions.
Serve as committee chairs, mentors, faculty, and advisors.
Receive priority consideration for national and international representation.
Receive 12% member discounts on PSPHCN Inc. activities, trainings, and conferences.
Participate in policy and strategic planning activities.
Enjoy lifetime recognition status, subject to good standing requirements.

Eligibility
Conferred by the Board of Trustees upon nurses or distinguished individuals who demonstrate:
Adherence to the Nursing Code of Ethics and highest professional and technical standards.
Exceptional national or international contributions to palliative and hospice care.
Outstanding leadership, advocacy, education, research, or service that significantly advances the palliative and hospice specialty in the Philippines.
Exempt from membership fees.
Rights and Privileges
Honorary Members may:
Attend PSPHCN Inc. activities and events.
Serve as advisers, consultants, speakers, or resource persons.
Receive official recognition from PSPHCN Inc.
Note: Honorary Members hold no voting rights and may not hold elective office unless otherwise qualified as a Regular or Lifetime Member. Honorary Membership may be granted to nurses and other distinguished individuals whose work significantly advances palliative and hospice care.
Membership Application

Applicants shall submit:
Completed PSPHCN Inc. Membership Application Form.
Valid PRC Identification Card.
Curriculum Vitae or Professional Resume.
Certificate(s) of relevant training.
Proof of clinical, teaching, leadership, or research experience (if applicable).
Payment of applicable membership fees.

Submission of membership application and required documents.
Evaluation of eligibility by the Membership Committee
Clearance by the Finance Team
Recommendation by the Membership Committee.
Approval by the President
Issuance of Membership Certificate and Membership Number by the Membership Committee
Update the membership master list by the Membership Committee
PSPHCN reserves the right to request additional supporting documents. Application processing time is approximately two weeks.

Honorary Member | Exempt from all membership fees.
The Board of Trustees may review and revise membership fees when necessary.

Membership Renewal

1. Membership shall be valid from January 1 to December 31 of each year.
2. Annual renewal shall commence every January.
3. Members must:
Maintain professional good standing;
Update membership records;
Pay applicable renewal fees.
4. Renewal reminders shall be issued by the Membership Committee.
5. Members with unpaid dues beyond six (6) months may be classified as inactive.

Suspension and Termination of Membership

1. Non-payment of annual membership.
2. Violation of PSPHCN Inc. Constitution and By-Laws.
3. Violation of the PSPHCN Inc. Code of Ethics.
4. Falsification of membership documents.
5. Conduct detrimental to the reputation of PSPHCN Inc.
6. Revocation or suspension of professional license.

The member shall:
1. Receive written notice of the complaint.
2. Be given an opportunity to respond.
3. Be evaluated by the Ethics and Professional Standards Committee.
4. Receive a written decision from the Board of Trustees.

A member may appeal the decision within thirty (30) days from receipt of the decision.
Amendments
These Membership Guidelines may be amended by the PSPHCN Inc. Board of Trustees through a majority vote, subject to the provisions of the Constitution and By-Laws.
Any amendment shall take effect upon official approval and dissemination to the membership.
