Carlo is a dedicated professional with a profound, decade-long commitment to advancing palliative care as a fundamental human right. His passion is rooted in direct patient experience—witnessing firsthand how this specialized care empowers patients and families, ensuring that no one suffers needlessly at the end of life.
Drawing from extensive experience with leading organizations such as The Ruth Foundation and Ayala Alabang Hospice Care Foundation, Carlo focuses on two key areas: transforming the patient journey through holistic, compassionate care that manages complex symptoms, addresses psychological needs, and upholds dignity in serious illness; and promoting the integration of palliative principles into mainstream healthcare, ensuring that these essential services are accessible from the time of diagnosis—not only at the end of life. Currently, he is the lone Palliative Care Nurse at the Ospital ng Makati.
Carlo is poised to further expand his impact. He continues to champion educational initiatives, establish best practices, and advocate for policies that will solidify palliative care as a standard of excellence in the Philippines. His work ensures that every patient receives the comfort, support, and respect they deserve.
