Jan Michael “Mike” G. Belen, is a registered nurse with broad experience in home-based palliative and hospice care. Despite working full-time in a government institution, he continues to do home visits when needed during his spare time. His passion for providing compassionate care began when he worked as a Nurse Navigator with the Philippine Cancer Society, and further intensified after he joined the Hospice and Palliative Care Volunteer Program of the UP-Philippine General Hospital, Section of Supportive Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He continues to improve his knowledge and skills in the field and ensures his professional development through numerous trainings and seminars in palliative care, end-of-life nursing, and patient-centered care. He is an active member of Hospice Philippines and the Asia Pacific Hospice Network (APHN), and a Board Member of the Philippine Society of Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses (PSHPCN, Inc.). Nurse Mike is committed to providing compassionate, holistic, supportive, and palliative care to seriously ill patients and their families.
